About RainbowHome Water

We help Indian homes capture rain, clear the mandate, and stop paying the tanker mafia.

RainbowHome launched in 2026 as a rooftop solar aggregator for Indian homeowners. We added rainwater harvesting as a second vertical because the same problems apply: a government-mandated retrofit, a fragmented installer market, opaque pricing, and no neutral place to compare.

Our independence

Three commitments — every page, every time

  • 1
We never install. No RainbowHome-branded crew shows up on your roof. We compare and recommend; vetted installers do the install.
  • 2
We never take commission on conversion. Installers pay us per qualified lead, not per closed sale. Our incentive is your match quality, not your purchase.
  • 3
We publish regulation data with source links. Every mandate, tariff, and subsidy card shows the source URL and the last-verified date. If a rule changes, you see it.

Why water, why now

Bangalore had a Day Zero scare in 2024. Chennai had a real one in 2019. Tamil Nadu has mandated rooftop RWH on every building since 2001 and Karnataka has mandated it on plots ≥ 1,200 sq ft since 2009 — yet most homeowners still don't know who to call, what the system actually costs, or whether their installer is on the BWSSB / CMWSSB recommended list.

That's the gap we fill: a free calculator that sizes your harvest honestly (BIS IS 15797:2008 formula, IMD rainfall data, your roof, your bill), a directory of installers ranked by price per m² and certification, and the loan-comparison surface for the homeowners who need to finance the install.

What we're honest about

  • There is no equivalent central subsidy for water. The rooftop-solar story has a clean hero number — ₹78,000 in central subsidy. Water doesn't. The economic case rests on penalty avoidance, tanker reduction, and bill savings — we surface all three transparently.
  • We are not a regulated water utility. Compliance verification is via BWSSB / CMWSSB, not us. We help you understand what compliance means and connect you to certified installers, but the final inspection and sign-off belongs to your water board.
  • We are not a regulated lender. The home-improvement loans we surface are the lenders' own products. We earn a one-time referral fee when you choose one — never a spread on the rate. You pay the same as you would going direct.
  • v1.3 placeholder partner data. The 10 installers and 8 banks listed today are placeholders we use to build the comparison surface. As real partnerships sign, we replace placeholder rows with verified data.

Where we operate

Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, the two states with the most-enforced residential RWH mandates. Maharashtra, Delhi, and Andhra Pradesh follow in v1.4. Drop us a line if you'd like us to prioritise your state.
