Our vision is simple: every Indian home should be able to power and supply itself. Rooftop solar cuts the electricity bill and earns up to ₹78,000 of central subsidy. Rainwater harvesting cuts the tanker bill, meets state mandates, and recharges the groundwater a borewell depends on. Both are proven. Both are under-adopted — because most homeowners decide on a single quote from whichever salesperson reached them first. We think that leaves money, water security, and trust on the table.

Our independence
Three commitments — every page, every time
- 1We never install. No RainbowHome-branded crew shows up on your roof. We compare and recommend; vetted installers do the install.
- 2We never take commission on conversion. Installers pay us per qualified lead, not per closed sale. Our incentive is your match quality, not your purchase.
- 3We publish regulation data with source links. Every mandate, tariff, and subsidy card shows the source URL and the last-verified date. If a rule changes, you see it.
Why we exist
RainbowHome is an ad-free calculator and partner directory covering two verticals — rooftop solar and rainwater harvesting. We do three things for each:
- Estimate honestly.The solar calculator uses the official subsidy structure and your DISCOM's published tariff slabs. The water calculator uses your roof area, local rainfall, and current tanker spend. Every number is sourced and dated.
- Compare openly. Every MNRE-empanelled solar installer and every rainwater-harvesting vendor in your area is listed, ranked by price, warranty, and service rating — not by who paid us.
- Connect when you're ready. When you pick a partner — installer, RWH vendor, or financier — we hand over your contact details only after you tick the consent box. Both estimates run without an account.
How we make money
When you choose a solar installer, a rainwater-harvesting vendor, or a financing partner through RainbowHome, we earn a one-time referral fee from them. The estimates and comparisons stay free, and your final quote is never higher because of us — partners commit to passing through the same pricing they'd offer direct.
We do notsell your data, run ads on the calculator, or pre-tick consent boxes. We are not a regulated lender; loan applications always happen on the bank's own government subsidy portal.
Where we operate
Rooftop solar covers Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh. Rainwater harvesting covers Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, where state mandates and water stress make it most urgent. More states are added based on waitlist demand — drop your pincode on either calculator if you're elsewhere.
